As you know, in May 2012 your Aviawest Resort Club (ARC) merged with Vacation Internationale and a conversion packet was mailed. To ensure that your membership remains active and preserve your vacation benefits plus your access to RCI, you must complete and return the conversion paperwork sent to you in May immediately.

Important Resale Advisory
Please be aware, an increasing number of Aviawest members and VI Members are being contacted by phone calls or email with solicitations to sell or rent their timeshare. These resale companies are implying by various methods that they are working with Vacation Internationale. This is misleading and false.

* Vacation Internationale does not provide any company with our member's names or contact information.
If you desire to rent or sell your timeshare, please check out the company before signing any contract and do not pay an upfront fee.
Shop around and compare.
Ask for and contact references of past customers.
Check with the Better Business Bureau.
Make sure any written contract contains all information discussed.

May 2012 Update
VI Benefits:
- Availability for VI resorts can be found online at www.viresorts.com with online reservations now available.
- No housekeeping or maid fees are charged at VI resorts, only the $20 Booking Fee is charged at the time a reservation is confirmed.
- Saving points with VI is automatic with no associated charge.
- Bonus Time is available at VI’s 44 resorts for rates as low as $50 per night.
- Book your reservation at VI resorts up to one year in advance.
How many points will I receive?
You will receive one VI Point for every 420 Aviawest points you own (Example: 30,000 ARC pts = 72 VI pts). Through borrowing and saving, you will be able to combine points.
Are my current points that I have in my account with RCI Lost?
All RCI Point allocations prior to 2012 will be in your RCI account for you to use (based upon their expiration). Instead of receiving a 2013 RCI Points allocation, you will receive VI Points, which can be used within VI or through RCI.
How much is the maintenance fee?
The VI operating fund (maintenance fee) is billed per point owned – currently at $7.28 (USD) per point. Your Use Year (12 month period when your points are allocated to your account) runs July 1 through June 30. You will receive your VI annual operating fund statement July 1, and have the option of paying in full by July 31st (USD) or paying monthly with a 1% finance charge.
Which Aviawest locations will be included in VI?
Certain locations/intervals will be retained by VI, subject to VI Board approval. At this time, the units at Rosewood Inn, Pinnacle Lodge, Rosedale on Robson and Pacific Shores will be included. Other locations are still under consideration by the VI Board.
Other than the 44 resort locations, what else does VI offer?
VI secures over two thousand exchange weeks in areas we know that our VI Owners desire – these weeks are made available to our Owners through our Instant Exchange Program for a nominal exchange fee + VI Points. We have an agreement with WorldMark by Wyndham for our Owners to exchange into nightly drive-to locations like Vancouver, Victoria and Seattle.
Will my membership still be in perpetuity?
Yes, the ratio will convert at 420/1, for every 420 Aviawest points’, you will be awarded 1 VI Point. These points will be in perpetuity.
What are my protections as a VI Owner?
As new VI contracts are sold, additional apartments will be added at existing or new resort locations, in this case, Victoria and Vancouver to maintain a balance between VI contracts outstanding and apartments in the program. All VI apartments are protected against any encumbrance, sale or attachment of the units by creditors of VI or of VOS, the developer.
Will I still have access to Bonus Time?
As a VI Owner, all VI resort locations are available at VI Bonus Time rates within 15 days of arrival, starting at $50 (USD) per night, based upon condo size.
How can I see what VI Resorts are available?
As a VI Owner, you are able to book a reservation up to 1 year in advance. In addition, you are able to view availability online at all 44 VI Resort locations, VI’s Instant Exchange locations and VI’s Nightly Exchange locations - this is a great planning tool. VI’s website www.viresorts.com allows VI Owners to confirm reservations on our website. You will also be able to speak to our experienced VI Owner Services Representative who can answer any questions or book your reservations.
Will this affect my RCI membership?
If your RCI Subscribing Membership account relates to your Aviawest (converted to VI) ownership only, your RCI membership will not be affected. You will continue to pay your annual membership fee to RCI. You will be able to access your RCI account through the VI website and your points will show in VI point amounts. Your points will not be deducted from RCI until the reservation is confirmed.
If your RCI Subscribing Membership account relates to your Aviawest (converted to VI) ownership plus an ownership at another RCI Affiliated Resort, your RCI Points membership for the other resort will become a separate membership from your RCI membership through VI. Separate RCI Points membership fees will be required for the non-VI RCI membership.

Are my current RCI Points reservations still valid?
Yes, all reservations confirmed through RCI using your Aviawest/RCI Points are valid.
What if I make a RCI reservation now?
If you have sufficient points to confirm a reservation, they will be deducted from your RCI Points balance.
When will my VI Ownership be added to my RCI account so I can use my VI Points towards RCI reservations?
Once your ownership has been activated with VI, it will be approximately 3-4 weeks until your RCI account will show your VI ownership and the Aviawest ownership (and maintenance fee block) are removed. RCI will notify you via e-mail once the conversion is complete. Thanks for your patience during this time while hundreds of conversions are being processed. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience during this transition period.
When I make an exchange using my VI points through RCI, will the amount of points RCI Points requires also be divided by 420?
Yes, when you view RCI availability online, it will be figured in VI Points currency.
(Example: 30,000 ARC points = 30,000 RCI points
30,000 RCI points = 72 VI Points which will be shown in VI Points.)
Do I still have to pay my loan payments?
Yes, if you have an outstanding loan, your payments are still due and payable to your current lender. All lenders are fully aware and supportive of the merger.
What happens if I don’t want to be a VI member?
You are under no obligation to accept the $69.00 USD (one-time fee) conversion to Vacation Internationale provided you have paid off your Aviawest purchase contract. However, if you have an unpaid balance for your purchased contract, you are still responsible for paying these loan obligations to your current lender. In addition, any future reservations you have made prior to the closing may be cancelled should non-payment occur.
*FYI - If you do not convert to VI your RCI membership will not be available for renewal after your current points expire.

The definitive agreement between Aviawest Resort Club (ARC) and Vacation Internationale (VI) has been finalized and VI would like to take this opportunity to officially welcome ARC members into the VI family. We are pleased to have you join us and proud to share the VI program with you.
Your VI contract package will be in the mail to you by the end of this week and we anticipate delivery to your home around May 15, 2012. Included in your package is a VI directory which highlights the more than 40 resorts in the VI Program and provides an overview of how the VI Program works.

We are progressing smoothly towards the completion of the merger with Vacation Internationale in the coming months, following the member vote in which 97% of those who voted approved the merger. As we approach the merger it's important that your club fees are up to date to ensure that you are able to personally realize the benefits of the merger. Most Aviawest Club members are current with their fees. Our fellow club members are looking forward to the benefits offered by VI including the 300 suites members can book in Hawaii, the dozens of other VI club locations, the low $20 booking fee and the savings on exchange and other fees, the 2,000+ weeks of VI instant exchange offerings, the online reservation system and the participation in an Owner controlled program.
A membership conversion agreement kit will be mailed to you in the coming weeks provided your Aviawest fees are up to date, and the conversion fee is only $69 USD. If you are not certain if your club fee payments are up to date please ensure you contact clubaccounting@aviawest.com.

Aviawest Update:
Following the overwhelmingly favorable vote of the members of Aviawest Resort Club (ARC) to merge with VI, the final offer was made to the British Columbia Court overseeing the CCAA case of ARC’s developer, Aviawest Resorts Inc. on March 21, 2012. A hearing is scheduled for the CCAA court to approve the offer on March 23. We look forward to the completion of the merger and mailing of documents to members for conversion later this Spring.
As the merger works toward completion, current Aviawest members may continue to use your RCI account.

Information regarding March 11, 2012 Meeting
The proposal to merge the Aviawest Resort Club ("ARC") into VI was approved by Aviawest members at a Special General Meeting on March 11. The final vote tally was 1,304 members in favor to 38 members against.
The monitor in the CCAA case of Aviawest Resorts Inc. ("ARI") has asserted a right to review the transaction in the CCAA court. Accordingly, a hearing has been scheduled for March 19 to consider whether the March 11 meeting was properly called; whether the management agreement between ARC and ARI can be terminated and/or assigned by the club without court approval; and whether special declarant voting rights held by ARI can be voted and if so whether they can be voted by ARC, ARI or the monitor.
After the March 19 hearing and a court ruling on these matters, final binding offers to the CCAA monitor for assets within the court's jurisdiction are due on March 21. Following that, the monitor and court will make a final decision as to the disposition of these assets by March 26.
ARC is represented by its own counsel in the CCAA case. VI is represented by separate counsel in the matter. ARC and VI are continuing to work to fulfill the intent of the large majority of ARC members to close the transaction.

How much is the conversion fee to join Vacation Internationale?
While not finalized, it will be approximately $69.00 USD.
Who is Vacation Internationale?
Vacation Internationale (VI) was founded in 1974 and is the largest owner-controlled points based timeshare in North America. With more than 40 resort locations and the VI Point system as your vacation currency, you’re not locked into a specific resort location or time of year. Each year, you choose where to vacation, how long you’d like to stay and what size condo fits your needs. Reservations at VI locations can be confirmed up to 12 months in advance. Also, there is never a housekeeping fee or saving/borrowing fee, only a $20 booking fee at the time of booking.

What will happen to Aviawest properties?
The VI Club really likes the location of Aviawest Club properties and that's one of the reasons why they think Aviawest is a good fit for VI. Aviawest Resort Club inventory will be moved to VI.
How many points will I receive with Vacation Internationale?
It's important to note that VI points and Aviawest Club Points have an effective equal value within the RCI system; the effective number of points you receive with VI is the same as you currently have with Aviawest. The value of your total points will not decrease.
Aviawest Resort Club members will be notified of their points amounts (approximately one VI Point for every 420 points in Aviawest Resort Club Program) as soon as possible after closing, should the merger be approved. This will be accompanied by a copy of the standard member agreement for the VI Program.

I’ve made future reservations at an Aviawest resort or through RCI. Will I lose those?
No, all future reservations at Aviawest properties or with RCI are secured for you as long as your account remains current.
What happens to my saved points within RCI? Will I lose those points?
No, those points will remain in your RCI account and you will be able to utilize them as long as they are valid.
If I own 40,000 Aviawest points, and my membership is converted into 95 VI points, how many RCI Points would I receive if I chose to travel through RCI's system instead of VI?
Your 95 VI Points would then be converted back to 40,000 RCI Points. No VI Points get transferred to RCI until your reservation is confirmed. All saving/borrowing is done within Vacation Internationale.
Do I still have to pay my contract (loan) payments?
Yes, if you have an outstanding contract, your payments are still due and payable.
