Traveling to Canada from the US

Beginning on August 9, 2021, fully vaccinated U.S. citizens may enter Canada from the United States for discretionary travel (e.g., tourism).  All travelers MUST use the ArriveCAN system to enter their traveler information, including proof of vaccination and proof of negative Covid-19 (PCR) test before arriving in Canada.  For additional information on travel for fully vaccinated U.S. citizens, please see

Travelers (ages 5 and older), by land or air, must provide negative COVID-19 (PCR) test results taken within 72 hours of their arrival at a land border or their scheduled air departure to Canada. There are no exceptions for travelers who are partially or fully vaccinated.

Traveling to the US from Canada

The United States and Canada have limited non-essential travel at their shared land ports of entry. Land borders are operating at reduced capacity and with limited hours.

COVID-19 Testing Required for U.S. Entry

Travelers (ages 2 and older), by land or air, all entering the United are required to present a negative COVID-19 test, taken within three calendar days of departure. There are no exceptions for travelers who are partially or fully vaccinated.

*** Proof of Vaccination Requirement

By order of the PHO (Provincial Health Officer), proof of vaccination will be required to access some events, services and businesses. Starting September 13 2021, you must have at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. By October 24 2021, you must be fully vaccinated.

The requirement applies to all people 12 years or older:

  • Indoor ticketed concerts, theatre, dance, symphony and sporting events
  • Indoor and outdoor dining at restaurants, pubs and bars
  • Nightclubs and casinos
  • Movie theatres
  • Gyms, pools and recreation facilities
  • Indoor high intensity group exercise
  • Indoor organized gatherings like weddings, parties, conferences, meetings and workshops
  • Indoor organized group recreational classes and activities like pottery and art

Events, businesses and services will ask to see your proof of vaccination and valid government ID. The requirement is in place until January 31, 2022, subject to extension.

Renovation/Construction Projects

01/04/2022-03/30/2022: Multiple units throughout the resort will be kept vacant during this time for an interior carpet and baseboard replacement and paint renovation project.

Parking: do not leave any valuables in your vehicle as lot is not gated.

Original Joe's restaurant, located on the ground floor of the resort is open from 3pm-9pm, 7 days a week. For more information check

Check-out Time: The check-out time is 11:00am.

Unit: Units are equipped with grab bars in the bath/shower area.
Kitchen: All units are equipped with a mini kitchen: under-counter fridge, a microwave, two-burner stove. They are NOT equipped with an oven.

All the studios and one (1) bedroom units have an individual Keurig coffee brewer. The two (2) bedroom units are equipped with a drip coffee maker.

WIFI: is available for free. Please ask the front desk for the code prior to logging on. Free WIFI is also available in the lobby.

Location: This resort is in a downtown urban location in the heart of Vancouver.

Front desk: The front desk functions are performed by the Rosedale on Robson Suite Hotel staff.

Security: Safety Deposit boxes are available for no charge and are located at the hotel desk.

Laundry: A community coin-op laundry is located on every other floor. 

Elevators: This resort has multiple elevators.

Multiple unit locations:  VI units are not grouped together in this resort, so multiple unit reservations are not likely to be near each other.

Resort Activities

If you are a traveler entering Canada REQUIRING a 14-day quarantine, please understand and note:

  • You will have no physical contact with VI staff after check-in
  • VI staff will not be able to enter your unit for any reason, other than emergency purpose
  • VI staff will drop off linen and terry, but not perform a mid-stay clean
  • VI staff will remove garbage left outside the unit door, upon request
  • VI staff will not be able to shop, deliver or assist with groceries

Fines: The following fines will be assessed for non-compliance.

Over-occupancy policy: $50.00 per person, per night. Occupancy limits apply to all ages including infants.

No pet policy: $350.00. Pets are not allowed at VI Resorts. 

No smoking policy: $350.00. Smoking is not allowed in rooms, decks, lanais or patios.

Late check-out policy: $25.00. Charged every half hour after check-out time of 11:00am. 

Taxes:  All reservations made for travel to VI Resorts in Canada will be charged Canada’s (PST/GST) tax.  Taxes for reservations to non-VI managed resorts, including VI at Rosedale on Robson, will be added to members account and billed after travel.

Parking: The rate for our registered guests for underground parking is $20 per day + tax.  In and out privileges are allowed. Park underground then pay at check-in. There is a height restriction of 6’6.

Over height driveway parking - $40 per day + tax (special permission is needed to use this option)

Valet Parking - $30 per day + tax
