Traveling to Canada from the US

Beginning on August 9, 2021, fully vaccinated U.S. citizens may enter Canada from the United States for discretionary travel (e.g., tourism).  All travelers MUST use the ArriveCAN system to enter their traveler information, including proof of vaccination and proof of negative Covid-19 (PCR) test before arriving in Canada.  For additional information on travel for fully vaccinated U.S. citizens, please see https://travel.gc.ca/travel-covid.

COVID-19 Testing Required for Canada Entry

Travelers (ages 5 and older), by land or air, must provide negative COVID-19 (PCR) test results taken within 72 hours of their arrival at a land border or their scheduled air departure to Canada. There are no exceptions for travelers who are partially or fully vaccinated.

Traveling to the US from Canada

COVID-19 Testing Required for U.S. Entry

Travelers (ages 2 and older), by land or air, all entering the United are required to present a negative COVID-19 test, taken within three calendar days of departure. There are no exceptions for travelers who are partially or fully vaccinated.

*** Proof of Vaccination Requirement

By order of the PHO (Provincial Health Officer), proof of vaccination will be required to access some events, services and businesses. Starting September 13 2021, you must have at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. By October 24 2021, you must be fully vaccinated.

The requirement applies to all people 12 years or older:

  • Indoor ticketed concerts, theatre, dance, symphony and sporting events
  • Indoor and outdoor dining at restaurants, pubs and bars
  • Nightclubs and casinos
  • Movie theatres
  • Gyms, pools and recreation facilities
  • Indoor high intensity group exercise
  • Indoor organized gatherings like weddings, parties, conferences, meetings and workshops
  • Indoor organized group recreational classes and activities like pottery and art

Events, businesses and services will ask to see your proof of vaccination and valid government ID. The requirement is in place until January 31, 2022, subject to extension.

  • There is on and off again construction on Michigan Street. Some traffic or noise disturbances may occur.

Limited Parking: When making your travel plans please be aware there is a limited number of onsite parking spaces on a first come, first serve basis. Street parking is 90-minute monitored from 8 am - 6 pm Monday to Friday with no time restrictions on weekends.  Should you park on the street, please be aware of the time to avoid receiving a parking ticket as tickets incurred are not the responsibility of the resort.

To avoid parking limitations, we encourage you to make your vacation car free. Victoria is a bike friendly city and the resort is within walking distance to many shops, restaurants and tourist attractions.

Resort Info

After-Hours Check-in: If checking in after 8:00pm, please call 1.250.384.6644 to arrange after hours entry. An afterhours number is posted at the front door should you not be able to arrange your late arrival beforehand.

Parking: Limited parking is available for one vehicle per unit during your stay, on a first come first serve basis.

Amenities: Rosewood Inn is not air conditioned and has no elevator.  With the exception of the Hotel Room Ground Floor, units are accessed by stairs.

Smoking is not allowed anywhere on the resort property.

Internet Access: Free Wi-Fi is available at the resort and in all the units.

Bike Storage:
 Due to space limitation, there is no indoor bike storage onsite. Units cannot accommodate bicycles. There is an outdoor bike rack that can be used with your personal locks, and at your own risk.

Important Information

Rosewood Inn

  • Has stopped serving breakfast and tea.
  • Drip coffee makers and kettles have been placed in each unit, as the lobby coffee station is closed.
  • Each room is equipped with a mini-fridge. The Lobby has a microwave.
  • The ice machine and BBQ are unavailable.
  • Daily towel exchanges are not being offered as in-room service. Towel exchanges will be delivered to unit door, upon request.
  • For stays of 9-13 days, we will deliver a linen package midway through your stay, but will not be entering your room.
  • For shorter stays, a new linen package can be purchased for $10 from our front desk.
  • In-room maintenance service is limited to urgent repairs.

Fees/Taxes

Fines: The following fines will be assessed for non-compliance.

Over-occupancy policy: $50.00 per person, per night. Occupancy limits apply to all ages including infants.

No pet policy: $350.00. Pets are not allowed at VI Resorts. 

No smoking policy: $350.00. Smoking is not allowed in rooms, decks, lanais or patios.

Late check-out policy: $25.00. Charged every half hour after check-out time of 11:00am.

Fees:

After-hours lockout fee: $35.00

Room key replacement fee: $2.00

After-hours safe lockout fee: $200.00

Parking-Free on a first come, first serve basis. Some vehicles will need to park on the street when the resort is full. 1 vehicle per unit only.

Internet-Free

Onsite charges at VI Managed resorts in Canada: All payments taken at VI managed resorts in Canada (Clock Tower, Rosewood, Royal Victoria Suites, and Pinnacle Lodge), are processed in Canadian currency. These charges include applicable taxes and incidentals (including food and beverage fees at Rosewood and Pinnacle Lodge).

Taxes:  All reservations made for travel to VI Resorts in Canada will be charged Canada’s (PST/GST) tax.  Taxes for reservations to non-VI managed resorts, including VI at Rosedale on Robson, will be added to members account and billed after travel.
